Sassy ended up at the shelter in rough shape.  Besides badly needing a grooming, she was urinating more often than a typical dog and she had some skin problems.  She visited the vet and was tested for a hypothyroid condition however the results are of the test showed normal thyroid function.  She has lost 2 pounds already though!  It must have helped to give her more exercise and a controlled diet.

Radiographs were taken and she had both bladder and kidney stones.  Currently she is on a special diet that will hopefully reduce the stones in her kidneys.  Surgery to remove the bladder stones was done and we are waiting on the stone analysis to determine if we have to change her diet and/or give her supplements for the kidney stone.  Her skin was treated and the lesions have healed.

All of her costs are quite high already for a senior dog and will be even greater continue the prescription diet to dissolve the stones completely.  Please consider donating towards Sassy’s vet bill!
