Young little Sarafina the bulldog mix needs some help. Any amount you can donate, even if all you can spare is $5, is greatly appreciated!!!
She visited a veterinarian neurologist and an MRI was required to find out what was wrong.
We needed to know in order to put her up for adoption but it was very expensive!
We did find out she cannot be cured but she also does not have anything life threatening and should live a normal lifespan.
Something caused atrophy to her cerebral cortex, or maybe it never grew properly. Either way, she can walk and run but there is a loss of sophisticated locomotor skills — she often crosses her front paws while moving and her back legs seem to be very uncoordinated. She also seems to have some problem with sensation especially with her mouth and often spills her food. When giving her a treat, it has to be placed in her mouth as if her lips can’t figure out where the treat is.
