UPDATE:  Wee Rosie has completely recovered from Parvo.  She still has demodex mange so will not be available for adoption until we are sure the mites are gone but now that she is active and happy and healthy, it shouldn’t be long.

UPDATE: The little boy, who we started calling Nick, had to be transferred to a 24 hour Emergency Care last night. By this afternoon, he was still declining and his white blood cell continued to drop. His prognosis was very grave. Unfortunately, he lost the battle.

Rest in peace Nick. We are glad you had comfort and care and did not suffer a horrible death without any treatment.

At least the little female is still doing well and has a great prognosis.

UPDATE: Female is stable and getting more active.  Unfortunately the male was worse and had to be hospitalized so we increased our target goal for donations.  It could go higher but we are trying to think positive — really hoping the boy can be released after only a day or two.

ORIGINAL LISTING: Not even 24 hours after accepting these puppies into our rescue, they became sick.  They were taken to a veterinarian and diagnosed with the parvo virus, which is a dire diagnosis for young dogs and puppies.  It is also very expensive to treat.

Since parvo is a virus, there is no cure.  Supportive treatment is required; sub-q fluids, anti-emetic drugs, etc. and then trying to convince them to eat.

They have a chance to make it.  Please consider donating towards their medical costs as we help them to survive.
