HI!, I’m Mako! I got my name because I’m from Florida and I have sharp little puppy teeth, like a Mako Shark has! Get it? 🙂
I LOVE LIFE! I was saved out of a box by some nice kids but when they brought me home to Michigan to meet mom, but mom said “Oh, no! No puppies!” so they asked APB to take me in and here I am!
I am a super happy and social puppy. I don’t get scared often, I warm up to strangers pretty quickly, because everyone loves a fluffy eared puppy! I mean, look at me, I’m adorable!
They originally thought I was a German Shepherd Mix, but I am clearly not. I am just a wee puppy! I might top out around 45 pounds when I’m a big boy…not German Shepherd sized. My foster mom has been trying to guess and her best creative guess is maybe a Miniature Aussie and maybe some spaniel? I don’t know what that all means, but she said “who cares, Mako, you’re adorable!”
She thought Aussie because if you watch my video, I’m amazing. I’m super smart, super focused and I LOVE playing fetch! That video was taken when I was only 12 weeks old! Foster mom says “That’s impressive!” I even bring it back so we can play more!

I also bark, a lot, too much she says…but I love sharing my voice with my friends. When I want them to play I bark and bark and bark until someone acknowledges that I’m speaking. I love playing tug, I love toys, all kinds of toys and bones and oh gosh, anything to chase or chew is so much fun!
I don’t really bother the kitties too much because one is bigger than I am! I love all of my foster dog siblings, they are all so much bigger than I am so they let me chew on them all the time. Foster mom says I’m going to get bit one of these days, but they are all super nice to me. I go in my crate when momma has to go to work, and I don’t like it but I’m a good boy. I do talk to my foster siblings all day, I hope they like my stories…barkie barkie barkie!
I sleep through the night, if I’m real good she’ll let me sleep in the bed, but I also have a big crate with a big fluffy bed I like too.
I’m the best puppy around! I’m not going to be huge, I’m so soft and so adorable and I love everyone. Will you love me too?

Why has no one applied to adopt me? I’m SO CUTE! Im small, I’m happy, I’m friendly and I love to bark. Is that why? My foster mom says I’m such a talker, she wonders if I have some Sheltie in me, cause she says they talk a lot. She tries to teach me to play quietly, but no one plays if I don’t talk to them! I am a big boy now at a little over 20 lbs, and she says I’m 6 months old now (she even saved a puppy tooth for you!) so I’m not going to get too much bigger! She really does wonder what I am because I’m not getting bigger! I have the best soft and fluffy coat, and well, have you seen my ears?? So fluffy! I have double dew claws on one back foot and one dew claw on the other. Not many breeds come with rear dew claws! Im extra special!
Oh – I went camping this summer! Talk about a good time!! I only barked when it was play time (never at neighbors!) and I got my rope stuck around everything possible. Chairs, tables, firepit, you name it! The best part was playing in the sand! You can dig forever in the sand!! And the bye-bye trip in the car was long and it was so fun! Id put my head outside and feel that breeze in my hair, then I would sit quietly in the back seat.
