Lexi – or Lexi Lou Who when she’s being silly – is one of the funniest, snuggliest, sassy ‘lil dogs I’ve ever had. she’s adorable.
And…she’s going blind. Juvenile cataracts are stealing her sight. Her right eye is already completely blind, and her left eye is losing function.
Being down one eye doesn’t stop her a bit! She’s sassy and playful, and loves to be by the people. She’s my companion while I’m working.
Lexi also has dry eye, and scarring on her corneas. She’s on medication to help with the scarring, and increase tear production – she will need to remain on eye medication for life, even if we are able to give her back the ability to see. She’ll be evaluated again at the end of October, to see if she’s in condition for surgery.
Lexi has some elevated blood values as well – the vet feels these are due to her teeth, and she’ll be spayed and have her teeth cleaned mid-September.
Can you help us to help her see for the rest of her life?
