285-23 Hi there, I’m Clover! I’m estimated to be a little over one year old. I’m 39 lbs, spayed female, likely some kind of hound terrier mix (Coonhound jack Russel perhaps?).
I LOVE to snuggle. I want nothing more than to curl up next to my new family and be by their side. After being a stray and then being in the shelter I now love getting to sleep on the couch and the bed in my foster home.
I haven’t shown any interest in toys nor do I try to play ball or frisbee in the yard. I do like to chew on my chew toys. I love going for walks and that would be the best way for me to get my exercise. Foster mom says I’d have medium exercise needs. I also love getting to go for rides in the car.
I’m smart and have already learned a few tricks. I’m VERY food motivated. I’m house trained. I’m also crate trained but foster mom has been letting me out in the house more and more when the humans are gone and I’ve been behaving myself very well so far. I bark when I want to be let back inside the house and when I’m in my crate and my humans get home from work ( and occasionally when I think foster mom is taking too much time to get my dinner ready), otherwise I’m not a big barker.
I have not been around cats- I’ve shown a strong prey drive with rabbits and squirrels so foster mom thinks no cats. I would probably be ok around kids, except I’m still not consistent with taking treats gently so they may not be able to hand me treats (I just get so excited about those yummy things!!). Lastly, foster mom thinks I need to go to a home where I’d be the only dog. I live with two other dogs at my foster home and we get along fine 99% of the time -we can even eat out if the same bowl- but I get defensive and try to guard “my” couch and “my” bed that I’ve claimed as my spots, and I will snap at them or try to run them away if the jump up by me. I do ok meeting other new dogs but you can tell I’m a little nervous when I do. Foster mom thinks I’d be happiest in a home that’s all mine.
Im just finishing up an antibiotic and then will have a clean bill of health from the vet. Im spayed and up to date on my core vaccinations. I’m ready to find my new forever home, could it be you?!
