Charley, as you can see, is an adorable little boy.  He was found along with some other small dogs wandering in a nature center, so it is assumed they were dumped. They were very scared and hard to catch.  The shelter contacted APB to foster him, as he was really scared at the shelter too. After about a day, he was jumping in Al’s lap and now has to be with him constantly, on his lap or beside him on the couch.  He is very cuddly and loves to be petted. We are working on potty training and he is doing very well, and he seems to be quite smart. Charley can be playful and is learning to play with toys – he likes to steal our chi’s favorite toy though! Most of the time he is content to lie down wherever you happen to be. If you want to be greeted when you arrive home, he certainly does that with wild barking! He is still afraid of new people and will bark and growl at strangers coming in to the house, but hopefully that will calm down. Who knows what happened to him in his early life. A fenced in yard would be needed, as he still doesn’t go potty when walking on a leash. Also he may not be good with small children, since he is scared of people in general, so needs a home with patient adults. For more info, contact: janandal@sbcglobal.net
