I had a lot of trouble trying to keep my handsome hair.  No one suspected that I was hypothyroid because my weight was just what it should be.  But after allergies were eliminated as the major problem, my animal doctor recommended testing my thyroid.  Ta da!  Just a little pill taken twice a day was all I needed.  I do still need eye drops for my dry eye but it isn’t as bad any more.  And my skin is feeling so much better although I am still getting some baths for the yeast on parts of my skin.
I have been eating a dog food with hydrolyzed protein because it is better for dogs with skin and hair problems and I really like this food.
Even with the medication, I am still a bit lazy and sleep a lot but I bark if I want to go outside and sometimes play with toys.  I get along great with other dogs — I mostly just ignore them.
Airborne allergies may still bother me in the summer as I was coughing for a while this summer but even though I have a slight heart murmur, I have no other symptoms of a heart problem.
