When Missy first came to us, she mostly just slept, woke up to eat and go outside to potty and then back to her doggie bed to  sleep.  About a week after her surgeries, she was feeling much better and had more energy and interest in wandering around outside in the yard.
You can read about her tumor here:  https://apbdogs.org/missy-extensive-care-2020/

When Missy wants somethings,  she makes this almost chirping sound rather than a bark and then we know she is ready to either go outside or if she is already outside, she is ready to go back in the house.
She will very likely always have to be carried in and out because she is deaf and blind and rarely ventures very far in the home.  She uses her nose to guide herself around both outside and in the house.

When she gets human attention of petting and scratching, she is starting to react with a slight tail wag and leaning into your hand.  She will settle in a lap now and seems to really enjoy the attention and human contact.
Other dogs do not interest her.  She doesn’t seem to care if they are there or not.  She has no problem sharing a cuddle bed with another small dog though.
Right now we take her outside 3 times a day and she has never had an accident in the house.
She still mostly sleeps because she is an old lady but she is looking for someone to give her the attention and care that a senior deserves.
