I had a rough time before I came to my APB foster home. I was first adopted out of the Roscommon Humane Society and two weeks later I was surrendered to the Humane Society of Midland County. I was adopted from there and after two weeks, I was returned again. I was the toughest Yorkie ever, and I did not need to be loved by anyone. If no one wanted me than I did not need anyone. So, I would nip at people when they picked me up and I would do my business in the houses. But because of that, no one wanted to take me to my forever home.
Before I knew it, I was being transferred to the Grand Rapids area, and someone was coming to take me to their home. I didn’t need them either, I will stay tough.
On the very next day, my foster mom noticed that I was actually moving around on three legs. Could that be the reason for my nipping and being so darn independent. I was taken to the Animal Hospital and had some X-rays. They showed that I did indeed, at some point, (at least a few years) had some trauma to my left back hip. There were bone fragments that could be seen on the X-rays. Surgery was scheduled and the bone fragments were removed, along with part of my leg bone. The cost of my vet bill was almost $900.00.
I am healing wonderfully and I do not have any reason to nip anymore. I have learned to trust and most of all love and be loved. I have learned many tricks too. I love to play tug of war nd squeaky toys. I don’t even do my business inside anymore.
Please consider donating to the Animal Placement Bureau to help cover the costs of my expensive medical care. Thank you!
