Endocrine testing – multiple tests

Breed: Chihuahua
DOB: 1999
Sex: Spayed female
Foster home: Linda W.

Tina’s owner passed away, and she came into rescue with some health problems of her own.  She was very lethargic and slept most of the time.  When she went for her vet visit, they found out she had hypothyroid so she was put on thyroid medication. With days she finally had energy and some spunk!  However, Tina got really sick very suddenly and had to stay at the vet office overnight.  She will go back for a checkup in a couple of weeks but it is possible that she has a calcified pancreas or maybe even cancer. Please send positive thoughts her way and if you have a soft spot for little chihuahua girls, please consider donating something to help pay for her tests and possible treatment.

Update  6/16/08
Tina’s re-check at the vet was STUPENDOUS!!!!  Whatever was in her pancreas is GONE!!!  And her blood tests showed that her liver enzymes are back in line!!  She still has to take the hypothyroid medication but otherwise she is now fit and ready for a forever home!
