Ruby was sitting in the animal shelter and her owner declined to re-claim her. She was miserable with pustules all over her body and she scratched herself often. A skin biopsy was taken to hopefully aid in diagnosing what was wrong.
The results were inconclusive so a tentative diagnosis was that she was having a severe allergic reaction to an unknown cause.
Treatment has started. There is improvement after 2 weeks!
Hopefully you can see the difference from the before and after pictures.
Ruby was treated with an injectable monoclonal antibody now called Cytopoint. http://www.cytopoint4dogs.com/index.aspx
Once her skin is clear of the “hives”, we will have to determine if she will still need injections.
Please consider donating towards Ruby’s treatment. She is a very sweet mature girl and is definitely feeling better!
