ADOPTED!

Breed: Australian Shepherd

DOB: 12/24/2016
Sex: Neutered male
Weight: 35 pounds
Foster: Linda M
095-18

Rookie is a 2 year old yellow merle neutered male Australian Shepherd. He is medium/high energy and weighs about 35 pounds.
Like most aussies he is velcro with his people and very quick thinking and likes to play catch with balls. He needs a job to do and be intellectually challenged so would be best with another adult aussie in the household (he is a big help with my other foster dogs). He loves to ride in the car and go for walks and is crate trained. He is uncomfortable when people move too quickly around his face so he has learned to turn himself around so visitors can pet the back of his head until he gets to know them better. Rookie was born with a mal-absorption disease of the small intestine.  This means he can’t digest proteins and large amounts of fiber and will need to eat prescription dog food/treats for the rest of his life.  In addition he will need monthly B12 injections and a B9 daily supplement.  (Rookie will need to be kept away from other dog/cat/people food in the house where he lives.)
