Barkley is as sweet as the day is long. Although he was not socialized with humans nor did he go outside of his original home much, he opens up to new people quickly. New places, sounds, and situations still make him nervous, so he will appreciate your patience in helping him trust the world around him. In his foster home, Barkley is silly and affectionate. He follows his foster mom around the house and loves being near his new friends.
Another playful medium to large dog (or dogs) in his new home will be required as he loves to play with other dogs and he has always lived with other dogs so will be more comfortable.
Although he is crate trained, he prefers to spend his down time on a couch or in his human’s bed. He is still young, so he should be crated or confined to a pen while he is alone. He loves to play with toys and pounces on them like a cat. He is a great listener and has even learned to sit for treats! He is very food motivated and smart.
Barkley is housetrained as long as he is taken out regularly. He will benefit from a routine. He is good with cats, dogs, and people.
