Sex: Spayed female
Weight: 60 pounds
Foster home: Julie
Somehow Annie Pei ended up as a stray at the shelter but the people there knew whom her owner was and contacted them but they did not want to come to get Annie. With infected skin, the huge growth on her back and a few mammary tumors, it was a long shot that anyone would want to adopt her. Annie found a foster home for treatment but her luck wasn’t as good as hoped. Even though the bacterial infection of her skin was easily cured, her mammary tumors were completely removed and the growth on her back was not cancerous, Annie Pei tested positive for heartworm.
She has quite a large bill at the vet of over $600.00 and she will still need to complete the heartworm treatment and will have more costs added.
We can’t be sorry we helped Annie Pei. When she stayed at the vet for a few days, everyone there loved her and had to let us know what a great dog she is! She even still likes car rides probably because going to the vet was fun because everyone liked her and gave her special attention. She does well with the other dogs of all sizes and ages — as long as she is fed her meals separate from other dogs — and she adores humans and their attention.
As long as everything goes well, Annie Pei will be ready for a new home in the beginning of 2016.
If you have a soft spot for Sharpei or just want to help out a sweet dog, please consider donating towards Annie Pei’s vet bill.
