I am a very smart girl who wants to hang out with my people as much as I can! I would love to live with someone who is home most of the day to hang out with me! I will sit on your lap or snuggle up next to you. I also love to burrow myself into a cozy nest in big soft blankets! My people say I look so cute with just my little face sticking out! I’m super happy to join you for a nap (as long as you let me UNDER the blanket!) or TV marathon!I was part of the Prison training program, so I learned lots of tricks! I can sit, shake, lie down, roll over, and dance in a circle! I can catch little treats in the air if you throw them to me! I love to show you my tricks so I can get a treat! (But be careful, because I might gobble your fingers when I take the treat from you!) I get excited when I hear the word “biscuit”! You have to keep the treats locked away from me, because I will open containers or climb up to find snacks!
I am comfortable around lots of new and different people. I used to live with a 9 year old and a toddler, and I got along just fine with both of them! But I will eat any food I can get to, and I might catch your finger if you are holding a treat, so I shouldn’t be near kids when they are eating. Right now I am a daddy’s girl because he holds me like a baby and rubs my belly!
I really enjoy going on walks, but I don’t tear up the house if I don’t get a walk. I like to stop and sniff a lot on my walks, so I don’t need to go very fast. I get excited when I see my people get my leash out! When I see another dog while I’m on my walk, I like to BARK at them so they know I am the boss! But when a dog comes to visit my house and I am off my leash, I mostly ignore the other dog!
Right now I live with two little dogs who are my size, and I mostly ignore them. If my brother dog gets too friendly, I just give him a bark and walk away from him. I also live with a big 60 pound dog who has WAY too much energy! If she is running around in the house, I bark at her so she will behave! I like to have other dogs around to keep me company.
One time (August 7, 2016), I missed my people SO much (even though they were only gone an hour!) I chewed through my metal crate, and ate through a window screen to try to go find them! I ran down the drive way and got hit by a car! Luckily my mommy found me right away and took me straight to the MSU vet, and they put two metal plates in my legs! It took a few weeks of resting, and a few more weeks of only walking a little bit, but after 8 weeks, I am almost as good as new! My back right hip sticks out a little funny still, but every day it is better and better! I can go on 20 minute walks and jump up on the couch again!
Now my people give me a little tiny bit of medicine before bed every night so that I’m not quite so nervous without people around. The medicine helps me relax until my people come back! I take pills SUPER easy if you put it in a bit of cheese or peanut butter!
I HATE HATE HATE being in a crate or a little space! I will whine and bark and chew on the metal until I get out! I need to find a home where I don’t have to spend time in a crate, where there is another dog for company and where someone is home to hang out with me most of the day!
